MISSION STATEMENT
By connecting Gonzaga University with local, regional and global partners, the CCE positively transforms our students
and communities. Honoring the Jesuit commitment to social justice and solidarity, the CCE partners with staff, faculty
and the community to develop relationships grounded in reciprocity that strive to meet the needs of the community
and promote social change.

The CCE provides experiences that allow students to hone their intellectual, physical, spiritual and emotional gifts in
service for the common good. Through these experiences, students will grow in their understanding of complex societal
issues, will have the desire and ability to challenge opression in their own communities and will seek solidarity with
those impacted by injustice.

LOCATION
The Center for Community Engagement is located in the John J. Hemmingson Center on the Gonzaga University
Campus in both suites 010 and 206.

OVERVIEW
The Center for Community Engagement provides and coordinates service programs including community based
volunteer and outreach programs, service learning classes, immersion trips and external volunteer projects. We give
Gonzaga students the opportunity to transform not only their own lives, but the lives of others through our 18
distinct service programs and 200 nonprofit agency partners, while honoring our commitment to social justice.

VOLUNTEER
Students can participate in year-long or semester-long programs such as youth mentoring, Campus Kitchens,
volunteering with homeless shelters and more by going to our service website: serve.gonzaga.edu
