Connecting to the Wireless Network (Eduroam)


eduroam allows staff and students to take their wireless devices to other educational institu-
tions worldwide, that support eduroam, and connect using their De Montfort University
username and password. You can access eduroam where you see this logo.

How to connect to eduroam using Android phones & tablets

These instructions are for android 2.1 or later


 From the main menu, tap Settings

 Now tap Wi-Fi

 In the list of Wi-Fi networks, tap eduroam

For help go to Kimberlin Library 1st Floor or Tel: 0116 2506050 (24/7) or Email: itmsservicedesk@dmu.ac.uk
 You may be prompted to set a password for credential storage. This is a
new password personal to your device and must have at least 8 characters.
 Enter the following details:

Security Type PEAP


Phase 2
MSCHAPv2
Authentication
Students: P-Number@dmu.ac.uk e.g. P1234567x@dmu.ac.uk
Identity Staff: username@dmu.ac.uk e.g. fbloggs00@dmu.ac.uk
Please note, this is not your e-mail address
Students: Your MyDMU or Blackboard password
Password
Staff: Your Staff Portal or Blackboard password

 Click Connect

 You should now be connected to


eduroam Wi-Fi

Password Changes
If your password changes you will need to update eduroam
 Go to your Wi-Fi settings
 Select eduroam and select Forget. Now follow this user guide again to
setup with a new password.
