Communication is defined as transferring of information from one

person/group to another, hence Purposive communication may be

understood as communicating with purpose. It may actually be
true but it is more than that. According to Dennis J. Martin,
purposive communication is done with a purpose in mind. It
means before prompting a speech, note or a talk we should know
what our goals are and what do we want our receivers to
understand. It is thinking the possible questions/reactions that
may arise/shown from our audiences and come up with possible
answers or solution from it. It is thinking in advance.

Purposive Communication is very essential in making better

relationship to others and to understand each other. It removes
confusion that may lead to pain and misunderstanding. It gives us
clarity and it removes our doubts. Hence being able to convey our
message effectively to our listener or receiver is power.
