Tun Perak was the Bendahara of Melaka. One day, his son was killed by Raja
Muhammad, Sultan Mansur Shah’s son. The Sultan was worried but Tun Perak said,
“Malays will never be disloyal to their ruler.”

The Sultan sent Raja Muhammad far, far away. When Sultan Mansur Shah
passed away, his younger son, Alauddin Riayat Shah became Sultan.

One day, Sultan Alauddin fell extremely ill. Tun Perak and his men stayed with
him. The Sultan’s grandmother came. She tried to kill the Sultan because she wanted
her favourite grandson, Raja Muhammad to sit on the throne. Tun Perak and his men
protected the Sultan. The Sultan recovered not long after that. Tun Perak had saved his
life.
