Good Morning Ladies and gentleman,

We are from 3rd Group, Let me introduce our member, My name is frisky indrawan as Narator,
This is fandika as the Nurse, and this is fitria as the patient. Today wwe are going to perform
roleplay how to apply IV infusion.First, I will present general information about Intravenous
Infusion, The purpose is to replace fluid, electrolyte, and to provide necessary nutrition in
patient. The angle is 20º-35º, with the vein as the route and hands as a place for us to inject.

Fitria :

okay, the equipment for applying infusion are IV pole, IV bag, Extender, Hook, Extention
tubing, Clamp, Hypoallergenic dressing, Alcohol swab, latex free gloves, Sharps
container, tourniquet.

Role Play

Nurse Fandika : “Good morning”

Patient Fitria : “morning nurse”

Nurse fandika : “are you mrs…..?”

Patient fitria : “yes nurse”

Nurse fandika : “I’m nurse …. I’m here to apply intravenous infusion

Patient fitria : “oke nurse”

Nurse fandika : “oke. First, I will hang the iv container on the iv pole ”

Patient fitria : “yes”

Nurse fandika : “then, I will hang the Iv container on the IV pole, remove the protective
cap of the container, insert the tubing spike of the chamber to the opening of the
bag, squeeze the chamber, open the clamp by rolling the roller clamp to see the
run of the fluid through the tubing, flush the tubing to expel the bubbles then
close the clamp, perform the venipuncture, look the Iv tubing to the angiocatheter
by aduancing and rotahing, reopen the clarup, adjust the desired flow rate.

Patient fitria : “yes nurse”

Nurse fandika : “oke. Finally I will adjust the desired flow rate”

Patient fitria : “oke nurse”

Nurse fandika : “oke. The injection is complete. How do you feel mrs….?”

Patient fitria : “I feel a little painful when being injected.”

Nurse fandika : “it is no problem. it will not be painful anymore in a few minutes.”

Patient fitria : “ oke nurse”

Nurse fandika : “So, that’s all is there anything that i can do before i leave?”

Patient fitria : “ no, thanks”
