III. RATIONALE

With a map, one does not have to depend on anybody for local directions. It acts as

direction finder for a very small price. (Vidya, 2015)

A well-designed campus map or site plan has become a vital tool for any visitors to a

school. (Porteous, 2018)

It is therefore equally important that any map design process takes into account the

unique needs of several groups of visitors and other stakeholders who need to navigate

around a site safely and efficiently such as people that may have visual impairments,

colour blindness, those viewing the map in low light or any other accessibility related

issues (Porteous, 2018)

IV. OBJECTIVES

The program aims to:

1. Guide visitors during their visit, guiding each to their destination and any other

desired locations.

2. Help the new students, teachers, etc. to identify and be familiar with specific

places found inside the campus.

3. Serve guests, giving them accurate directions quickly and easily.

V. PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project aims to help not only the students but even the faculty staffs and visitors to

navigate their way around the campus of Senator Renato "Companero" Cayetano Memorial

Science and Technology High School

Every school year, tons of new students set foot inside the campus. Aside from that,

there are also numerous visitors, guest lecturers, visiting faculty and others that need help

finding their way around SRCCMSTHS. Navigating an unfamiliar campus can be intimidating, not

to mention stress-inducing when someone lose their way. Recognizing the struggle of every

student and visitors of SRCCMSTHS, the launching of this official map of the school would

definitely help anyone in the said school to navigate to unfamiliar buildings and find rooms with

nondescript names.

To pull it off, the creators needed to make a highly detailed map of the entire campus,

from the inside to the outside without missing even a small data or information. To create a

precise venue map of all floor plans representing the buildings, facilities and the numerous

walkways between them. The official map required mapping experts to first convert the digital

floor plans into 3D venue maps.

Even SRCCMSTHS tricky corridors, stairways, the new parking lot, grounds, garden,

rooftop, rooms and the multiple buildings inside the premises have been included to ensure that

accessible navigation can be identified. Then, all the classroom data and room description

provided by the school were encoded and combined with the venue map data to enable search

and navigation.

will be created in the perfect style and size for a school, are made of high-quality materials that

are designed to make them long-lasting and lastly, well-detailed and easy-to-read.)
