PRESENTACIÓN
Description:
The English language course is based on the communicative approach to language learning in the line with
the Common European Framework of Reference from the Council of Europe. More specifically, there are five
main principles of language learning that underpin this curriculum.
1. Focus on meaningful communication
2. Teach authentic English
3. Students learn most effectively through doing
4. Students learn best when motivated and engaged
5. Differentiate the teaching according to different interests and needs among each group of students

PROPÓSITO
1) Develop the students´ ability to use English in personal and social communications, to develop
relationships, complete transactions and carry meet everyday needs.
2) Increase their engagement with cultural and intercultural activities in English, in order to develop a better
understanding of their own culture as well as other cultures around the world.
3) Develop their ability to teach in a school environment where English is an important aspect of the school
´s approach. Schools are expected to use English increasingly for various teaching and learning activities, and
future teachers need to be confident in using English in the school environment.

Unidad de aprendizaje III: SCHEDULES, EXPERIENCES AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS, AND TEACHER QUALITIES.

Metodología general del curso:


This curriculum is based on the communicative approach to language learning, and the approach to teaching
should be consistent with this, adopting learner-centered and activity-based principles. Four key principles to
follow in the teaching of this program are:
1. Focus on meaningful communication
2. Teach authentic English
3. Students learn most effectively through doing
4. Students learn best when motivated and engaged
5. Differentiate the teaching according to different interests and needs among each group of students

Your teacher will advise you online through the Forum: Questions, answers and advice, which will be part of
each instructional unit. You will place your question in that space, your teacher will answer and all classmates
will be able to see your questions and the advice of your teacher; in this way you will socialize the
information.
If you have concerns of a personal nature, you can send a message per platform to your teacher.

Descripción de la actividad:
Make their own family tree for a presentation.
SS brainstorm and find out words about family members. T reviews possessive adjectives and ´s to indicate
family relationships. SS practice by pairs stating relations in different ways as well as giving additional
information about family members.

With the family tree done, SS exchange information about their families. They ask and answer questions
about families and practice asking follow-up questions. They compare information about families using simple
present tense.
SS talk about routines in their families.

Descripción:
Purchase play: SS present a play where a customer explains what he/she is looking for, ask/answer about
prices and carries out a purchase.
Written dialogue

T shows a video where a customer and a clerk have a dialogue as the customer arrives to a store. SS
analyze greeting and courtesy expressions, define places and items to buy and the way prices are stated.
SS practice with a situation given by T, asking and answering questions when buying things.
SS make a dialogue where a customer gets to a store, explains what he/she is looking for, if not available
the clerk makes suggestions, ask/answer about prices, give and receive information to buy and sell things,
and finally carries out a purchase. SS must act their dialogue in class.

Descripción de la actividad:

Learn about the manners of different cultures. Analyze what is accepted and unaccepted
behaviors. Brainstorm a list of adjectives related to this subject. Write statements about
manners in different countries.

T reviews the modal verb should. SS practice using the modal should to give advice and It´s
+ adjective to describe accepted or unaccepted behaviors. What do you think they should
do instead of this behavior? Make a discussion in class about the behaviors we learned
about.
