ACTIVITY (COMPONENTS OF PEACE)

1. How did you feel about the story, “Mother and Son?”
- I am sad and brokenhearted for what he had done to his mother.

2. What did/do you learn from the story?

- Never hate anyone for their disabilities. Love your parents and treat them with love
and care. For you will only know their value when they are gone and no longer by
your side.

3. How will these learnings be used in your relationship with others?

- These learnings can be used to my relationship with others by treating them right and
appreciating them. Don’t ignore and under estimate their sacrifices instead you must
support them when they are facing a hard time in their life.

4. Write a letter to your mom / dad / friend.

Pa,

I want to write you a letter. I need to. I want you to know that just because I block
out a lot of the memories I have with you, it doesn’t mean I didn’t love you. I love you so
much, too much. Pa, I cannot thank you enough for all the memories I have with you. I
miss you so much. I miss you even more today because it’s been 8 years since I heard
your voice, heard your laugh, told you I love you and held your hand. Even though I can
no longer hear your voice, I still see your face and I can feel your love. You’re still with
me, in my heart, in my laughter, my smile, my tears and in my prayers.
