ADMISSION ELIGIBILITY

Available Seats
Seats available for admission process are known as :
l Government Seats (process done by ACPC)
I. All the sanctioned seats of the Engineering and Technology Courses in the Government Colleges
or Institutions of the State,
II. All the sanctioned seats of the Engineering and Technology Courses in the aided Colleges or
Institutions,
III. Fifty percent. of the total sanctioned seats of the Engineering and Technology Courses in the
unaided Colleges or Institutions, and
IV. All supernumerary seats of the professional courses in the Government Colleges or Institutions
and in the aided and unaided Colleges or Institutions.
l Management Seats (process done by Institute(unaided))
I. Fifty percent seats of the total sanctioned seats of the Engineering and Technology courses in
the unaided Colleges or Institutions including 15 per cent of NRI seats.
II. The intimation received, in respect of sanction of seats, by the Admission Committee three
days prior to the counselling program, shall be considered as available seats:
Provided that the Government Seats shall be available for online admission for two rounds by the
Admission Committee:
Provided further that the registration and preparation of merit list of the Management Seats shall be
managed, finalized and declared by the concerned college or institution.

Admission Eligibility for Government Seats

[A] For Students who have passed qualifying examination from school located in Gujarat and
appeared in GUJCET -2020
A candidate shall have passed HSC (10+2) with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST/SEBC/EWS) of
theory (or theory and practical) marks of Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects with
(Chemistry or Biology or Technical Vocational subject) from a single board. Candidate shall also
appear in GUJCET -2020 examination in respective subjects. The candidate shall pass the HSC
examination from schools located in Gujarat from any board from GSEB, CBSE, ISCE, Cambridge,
International Baccalaureate (IB) or NIOS.
or
A candidate whose parents are of Gujarat origin and who has passed the qualifying examination
with minimum eligibility criteria of percentage of marks in subjects prescribed by AICTE from time to
time from the State where his parents are located and has appeared in the GUJCET conducted in the
corresponding academic year, shall be eligible for admission.
or
A candidate whose parents are serving in the category of services as mentioned in admission
rules and who are transferred from other States to Gujarat and have resumed their duties in the place
where they are transferred in Gujarat and shall remain so transferred in the State of Gujarat at the
time of registration for admission, shall be eligible for admission and his candidature shall be included
in the merit list.

A candidate who has studied under Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Scheme / Sainik School up to
Standard VIII in any of the schools located in the State of Gujarat, and there after studied in any of the
schools located out of the State of Gujarat under the said scheme, and passed Qualifying Examination
from a Navodaya Vidyalay / Sainik School located outside Gujarat State.

[B] For Students who have passed qualifying examination from school located in India (including
Gujarat State) and appeared in JEE(Main) 2020
Five percent of seats in Government and aided institutions shall be available for the candidates
who have cleared the qualifying examination with minimum eligibility criteria of percentage of marks
in subjects prescribed by AICTE from time to time from an eligible board from school located in India
(Including Gujarat State)and have appeared in JEE (Main) for the corresponding academic year. A
candidate shall have passed HSC (10+2) with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST/SEBC/EWS) of
theory (or theory and practical) marks of Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects with
(Chemistry or Biology or Technical Vocational subject) from a single board. Candidate shall also
appear in JEE (Main) examination in respective subjects.

Candidate satisfying both criteria can apply in both section [A] and [B] with single application.

Reservation for Admission

[A] For the purpose of admission in Government Seats, the seats shall be reserved under the following
categories and in following proportion, namely: -
(a) Scheduled Castes (SC) : 7%
(b) Scheduled Tribes (ST) : 15%
(c) Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC),
including Widows and orphan of any caste : 27 %
(d) Economically Weaker Sections (OPEN-EWS) : 10 %
[B] For the purpose of admission in Government Seats, the seats shall be reserved under the following as
sub-category in each of the available category and in following proportion, namely :-
(a) Physically Disable candidate (more than 40%) : 5%
(b) In-Serviceman and Ex- Serviceman : 1%

Calculation of Merit Marks

[A] For Students who have passed qualifying examination from school located in Gujarat and
appeared in GUJCET -2020
60% weightage of the percentile obtained in the theory subjects (PCM) of board exam combined with
40% weightage of the percentile obtained in the GUJCET 2020. A common merit list will be prepared
for GSEB, CBSE, ICSE, Cambridge, IB and NIOS board.

(including Gujarat State) from a valid Board as recognised by the Gujarat Board; and appeared in
JEE(Main) examination shall be prepared on the basis of All India Rank of JEE (Main) examination for
the corresponding year.
