Romania has 3 main sources of Electrical energy:

Thermoelectricity
Hydroelectricity
Nuclear power

Thermoelectricity (by coal)

The thermoelectric effect is the direct conversion of
temperature differences to electric voltage and vice versa via a
thermocouple.

Thermocouples are widely used in science and industry because

they're generally very accurate and can operate over a huge
range of really hot and cold temperatures (basically an
advanced thermometer)

The main income of Thermoelectricity in Romania is provided

by a company named Termoelectrica. It has been funded in
1998 and since then the state has invested in it with well over
900 million Euros.

So, Romania has, overall, three important Thermoelectricity

stations :
Rovinari
Funded 2004
Estimated budged 260 million Euros

Turceni
Funded 1978
Estimated budget 800 million Euros
It is told that the Turceni Power plant is one of the most
polluting plants in all over Romania, and it is a important factor
in Europe s Pollution.
But, because of the Europe Union, the emissions have gone
down drastically, making an effort to reduce polluation and
make Romania a better environment.
