Questions related to your Application/SOP

Have a thorough idea about what you have written in your Application form/SOP.
Make sure you go through each and every word written in the application form/SOP
and prepare yourself to tackle any questions based on them.

Questions related to your stream/Work-ex

 Make sure you have a thorough understanding of your stream, the


courses you have studied and application of basic concepts and formulas. If
you are a fresher you may expect more questions from your undergrad
stream.
 Choose 2–3 subject you are comfortable with and prepare thoroughly the
concepts, formulas and their application.
 If you have some work experience have a thorough understanding about
your profile, the projects/assignments you have undertaken and delivered
and some general knowledge about the organization you are working for.
Questions related to current affairs

 Have a thorough knowledge about the trending news and happenings in


the world. You can expect a few questions from the current affairs.
 Do read newspapers. The Hindu, The Economic Times and The Business
Standard are a few that have some quality news in it and this will also help
you in your GD/WAT.
Questions related to General Awareness

 You may expect a few questions related to


o Native place
o City/Town you are residing in
o School and Undergrad institute
o History and Geography of your state (Also about India)
o Famous personalities from your state (Also about India)
o Hobbies/Extra-Academic activities including Music, Painting,
Sports activities, Puzzle solving, Sudoku etc.
o About the IIM you have been called for the interview
HR questions

HR questions are mostly to judge How honest you are and how have been your
journey from childhood to the IIM interview room. Make sure you prepare all sort of
questions related to you beforehand and be very honest while answering them during
the interview.

 Tell us something about yourself.


o Be very honest
o Do not tell them all those stuffs written on your application form
o Come up with something unique that can only be associated to you
 Why MBA?
 Long-term and short-term goals.How are you preparing to achieve them
 What kind of work motivates you?
 Your strengths and weaknesses
 What failures have you experienced? What have you learned from your
mistakes?
 Leadership responsibilities you've had.
 Accomplishments that have given you the most satisfaction
 What makes you better than the other people appearing the interview
 A time when you were criticized and How you handled the situation.
 A decision you made recently and how you reached it.
 Describe a contribution you made to your institute or in your last job that
have helped them a lot.
