PROPOSAL

Theme: IDOLONG TADEO

Objectives: This activity aims to:

1. Develop singers from selected students in all grade levels through a workshop.
2. Encourage the participants from Pre-school to Grade 6 to showcase their talents in a recital.
3. Discover new singing talents from Grades 7 through 12, via singing competition.
4. Inspire friendship and friendly competition among participants
5. Inspire the spirit of gratitude by encouraging participants to join the St. Jude Thaddeus Parochial
School Glee Club in their weekly Mass service.

Persons Involved:

1. Participants – Amateur singers are encouraged to participate. Known talents are encouraged to
be part of the production numbers during the event.
a. Sector 1 – Pre-school to Grade 3. Two representatives per section.
b. Sector 2 – Grade 4 to 6. Two representatives per section.
c. Sector 3 – Grade 7 to 10. Any number of contestants, minimum of one participant per
section.
d. Sector 4 – Grade 11 to 12. Any number of contestants. minimum of one participant per
section.
2. Faculty – assist in identifying participants/ contestants for this event.
3. Resource persons – Guest and Faculty workshop facilitators and Judges for the competition.

Program:

1. Workshop
Selected participants will undergo voice and performance workshops which will prepare them
for the recital and competition. It will be *n-day workshop. Workshops will be based on
participants age group: Class A: Sector 1, Class B: Sector 2, Class C: Sectors 3 and 4. Total of
(3*N) classes. See schedule on Calendar Section.
2. Recital
Participants from Sectors 1 and 2 will have a recital – a group performance. They will perform in
the production numbers during the competition.
3. Contest Proper: Idolong Tadeo
After the workshop, participants from Sectors 3 and 4 will join in the following elimination
process:
a. Preliminaries – Contestants are to perform in duet or groups, but they will be judged
individually. Only three (3) finalists per sector, six (6) contestants in total will advance to
the final round.
b. Idolong Tadeo Finals – Contestants are to perform two songs each. One Choice piece
and one Contest Piece. Winners will be declared per sector: 3 nd Place, 2nd Place and Ang
Idolong Tadeo.
Mechanics: IDOLONG TADEO

Preliminaries

a. This contest is open to all amateur and aspiring singers from Grades 7 to 12.
b. Contestants should have completed the Workshop for Idolong Tadeo.
c. Performance for the competition is either a duet or group number, but contestants will be
judged individually.
d. Performers may perform any song of choice, provided it does not contain explicit and/or
sacrilegious content. They are encouraged to perform a song that will show their vocal prowess
and will provide opportunity for each individual to shine.
e. The song may be in English or Tagalog and must not exceed *six minutes.
f. Participants must provide Minus One track of their song choice.
g. Attire must be decent and appropriate for the competition.
h. Judges’ decision is considered final and unappealable.

Idolong Tadeo Finals

1. Six finalists from the preliminaries will compete for the Idolong Tadeo for Sector 3 and Sector 4.
2. Each contestant will perform a choice piece and a contest piece.
3. Choice piece must not contain explicit and/or sacrilegious content. The song may be in English
or Tagalog.
4. Performance for each participant must not exceed *eight minutes.
5. *Participants may provide Minus One track of their song choice or coordinate with the band.
6. Contest Piece will be provided after the announcement of the finalists.
7. Attire must be decent and appropriate for the competition.
8. Judges’ decision is considered final and unappealable.

Musicality 40%

Stage presence 10%
