1 A student carries out an experiment to investigate the relationship between mass, m and volume,
V of ball bearings.
The arrangement of the apparatus is shown in Diagram 1.1. The test tube is filled with some sand
and gently lowered into a measuring cylinder containing water. The test tube will float upright.

same skateboarder going down a less steep plane. It is observed that he moves faster when going

4 Diagram 4.1 and Diagram 4.2 show a cross section of bicycle dynamo which has a magnet and a
coil of insulated copper wire. The output of dynamo is connected to a bicycle lamp. When the
magnet is rotated by turning the wheel at the same speed, the lamp in Diagram 4.2 lights up
brighter than in Diagram 4.1.
