sistance of this pellistor is compared by the
Wheatstone Bridge circuit (which forms part
of the Gas detector module) to the
resistance of the second reference pellistor.
The reference element allows automatic
compensation for humidity, pressure and
temperature changes.

Terminal Description.

1– 4 Terminals are special functions. Do not

connect before consultation with the Design
Office.

5 and 6 supply low signal to Local Sounder and

Beacon. +24V is supplied from Terminal 7
Maximum Rating 36V 0.5A

Terminals 8 and 9 are open normally and closes

on Gas Alarm. Maximum rating 36V at 0.5A

10 and 11 allow the Fire panel to shut the gas off

in the event of a fire alarm. Should only be
connected to volt free contact

12 and 13 Do not connect.

14 and 15 for connection of Sprinkler Flow switch

to sound alarms an cut off gas.

16 and 17 Gas Pressure switch allows pressure

to be monitored. If too high it shuts off gas. Low
gives fault. Terminals 14 to 17 should only be
connected to volt free contacts

Terminals 18 to 26 are volt free contacts for the

specified function. Maximum rating 36V at 1A

27 and 28 supply to Gas Solenoids. Normally on

when no gas sensed. Maximum Rating 36V 1A

29 and 30 supply to the Sprinkler Solenoid. Off

when no gas sensed. The operation may be
overridden by front of panel switches.
Maximum Rating 36V 1A

31, 32 and 33 are for connecting the gas sensor

for Zone 1. Sensor Max Rating 5VDC 0.5A

34, 35 and 36 are for connecting the second gas

sensor if a two zone panel. Sensor Max Rating
5VDC 0.5A
Power Terminal Description.

Terminals 1 & 2 supply voltage for external relays

etc. if required. Max Rating 36VDC 1A

3 and 4 allow connection of 2 x 12V 7AHr sealed

lead acid batteries giving nominal 24VDC. Battery
fused at 5A

Terminals 5 & 6 allow connection of a 10,000 uF

50V capacitor to compensate for solenoid surge if
required.

Terminals 7 to 10 allow connection of the Mains

transformer with two 19V AC windings.
Ensure correct phasing before applying power.

Terminal 11 allows connection of earth/ ground

input where this is monitored for fault.

Panel Set-up

Sensor Initial Set-up Battery Adjustment

When a new Sensor is connected to the main Battery Adjustment should be carried out with a
module it must be set-up correctly. Follow these fully charged battery connected, for a minimum of
steps: five minutes.
1. Before connecting the sensor ensure the
voltage on the terminal are less than 3V. The voltage on the battery should be measured
2. 31-33 or 34-36 with a multi-meter.
3. Connect the sensor three wires.
4. Adjust the voltage on the sensor to 2.4V The voltage on the battery should be between

Equipment.
Each Sensor if fitted into the Exp Junction box.

The Gas Sensor is screwed into one of the Junction Box entries.

Any spare junction box ports must have a plug fitted into it.

The sensor cab be mounted to be horizontal or vertically down. The cable entry
must not face upwards to that any rain water etc. does not trickle down the lead and
over time ingress into the junction box.

If the cable come down from above it should loop down so water can drain off. The
cable can then enter from the side or lower entry.

The Junction box should only be opened when it is certain there is no gas
hazard in the area. This can be checked with a hand held gas monitor.
