How to create a virtual background on

Snap Camera with the Lens Studio (in 5
minutes).
In the previous stories, I talk about “How to use a virtual background in
the google meet for mac os”. We use a Snap Camera to build a virtual
background with an existing lens. My students and workmate were
enjoyed with this application so much.

In my mind, It would be quite good if I have a unique virtual

background as my favorite picture. So in this story, I will share the
easiest way to create your own lens with a Lens Studio.

Before Start!!! I’m not a Snap Camera expert or

Lens Studio expert. I just use it for the rst time
and share my experience.

Lens Studio Software (Mac and Windows are supported)

1. Go to this website https://lensstudio.snapchat.com/

2. Download the Lens Studio and install it on your computer.

System Requirements

Operating System: Windows 10 (64 bit); macOS 10.11+

Hardware: Minimum of Intel Core i3 2.5Ghz or AMD Phenom II
2.6Ghz with 4 GB RAM; Intel HD Graphics 4000 / Nvidia GeForce
710 / AMD Radeon HD 6450 or better; screen resolution of
1280x768 or higher

3. Open Lens Studio and create a lens with these templates. This
template will set your picture as a virtual background for Snap Camera.

(For the expert user you can read more information at

https://lensstudio.snapchat.com/templates/)

Using a Segmentation Template

Click on Image Texture to change a picture.
Click on Add new to upload your picture.
Click on Import Files.

6. After your picture has been uploaded, select the picture to use as a
virtual background and then click “ok”. (Use the high-resolution
picture for a good background.)
7. Preview your virtual background in simulation mode

Unchecked option “Tiled” and select any “Fill Mode” as you like.
Click on a camera icon to open your webcam.
Change view to Desktop view to simulate your lens when it uses in
a computer.
8. Update your “Project Info” before publishing your lens.

9. Set a lens name. This name can be searched and show on Snap
Camera after publish and review success. And select the icon for this
lens.

10. The last step is to publish the lens to the Snap Camera. And this lens
l k h
Click on “Publish Lens”.
Login with a Snapchat account or sign up if you don’t have it.

11. After you click “Publish Lens” set a tag for describing your lens and
then submit.
12. The lens will show status “In Review”. And you will receive an email
when it changes to “Live”.
After your lens show status “Live” you have to wait a short period
time before the Lens is searchable in Snap Camera.
For my lens estimate waiting time is 3-4 hours.

A note from Lens Studio website

After that, all of my lenses can searchable in Snap Camera with the
Lens Name or my name on Snap Chat.
Your preview Lens is a ip image and it will be the same as the
original picture when others see on meeting software.
Hooray!!! It’s easy to create a Lens on snap
camera to use a unique virtual background as
you want.

We hope this article will be useful to everyone.
