3rd due to Election Day.

Wonderful Costume March: Thank you for participating in our Teacher “Monster March” last Thursday! It was a
fantastic turn out and we truly enjoyed seeing the students in their costumes! We will be posting some on our
Instagram page and teachers will be collecting pictures to store for yearbook placement. We hope everyone had a
fun and safe Halloween on Saturday!

their 80 miles!!! Laya Vinay is up to 16.5 miles! Keep walking and jogging Cox Cubs!
Parents send me the names of your students and their miles completed so I can celebrate them in our newsletter!

PTA News (2nd posting): Parents, PTA is in need of parent help for some of the positions which have become open
since the start of the school year. Please help our PTA, the following are the positions which they need help with:
Secretary, Communications (Facebook and Newsletter Monthly), Yearbook, and Garden. If you are interested in
helping with any of these positions please email our PTA President, Danielle Hall at halldr2@nv.ccsd.net

Parents, please donate your child’s books: Thank you to all the families for their book donations. We will continue
to accept donations. Donated books can be placed in the library book box at the front doors of the school.

Middle School News: Parents, if you have a middle school student, please check their school calendar as many of the
middle schools have their Quarter A ending on Friday, 11/6, in which all school work must be turned in.

DMC News: We are pleased to announce that we completed a grant with the City of Henderson, for their education
fund, and we were awarded $15,000.00! We are very grateful to the City of Henderson for accepting and funding our
grant. It will go towards additional document cameras for teachers to use with distance learning, software programs,
projectors which have gone out in our classroom smart-boards, and cameras for teachers’ laptops and computers.

DMC Announcement: We regrettably must cancel our 5th Grade Alumni Celebration which was going to take
place this month due to district restrictions on in-person/face-to-face school sponsored events. We had planned on
inviting our (now) 6th graders back for an evening BBQ and celebration because they missed their end-of-year Aloha
celebration we hold every year for our 5th graders. We are planning on another type of certificate and supply pick-up
to try to make it special for them, more information and dates to come.
Family Meal Support (final posting): LV culinary Academy in North Las Vegas is providing FREE local
emergency food assistance and is open to all Clark County residents (which is the ONLY criteria for receiving
support). Call 702-227-8842 to get a pick up day and time and an order confirmation number. The address is The Las
Vegas Culinary Academy, 710 W. Lake Mead Blvd., North Las Vegas, 89030. This ends 12/31/20 or until the program’s
