LESSON TITLE: Greek and Roman Culture SUBJECT AREA: World Studies

OHIO STANDARDS: Grade 7 World Studies: 2. The civilizations that developed in Greece and Rome had an
enduring impact on later civilizations. This legacy includes governance and law, engineering and technology, art
and architecture, as well as literature and history. The Roman Empire also played an instrumental role in the
spread of Christianity.

Students would have learned about governments, laws, and cultures in past years of school.

Students will have learned about culture in the past as well as governments and laws. This may be a first
introduction to Greek and Roman civilizations, but it will lead into a further discussion of these cultures.
