(See 05-02-5 DTC TABLE [5R55S}.) — Ifthe DTC does not exist and the MIL does not illuminate, and the O/D OFF indicator light flashes, diagnose the applicable symptom troubleshooting. (See05-03-5 SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING ITEM TABLE [5R55S].) vanes ON /FLASHING WITH SYMPTOM. | a | oo ie *: Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL), O/D OFF indicator light AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION [5R55S] DTC Reading Procedure 1. Perform necessary vehicle preparation and visual inspection. 2, Connect the IDS/PDS to the DLC-2. 3. After tho vehicle is identified, select the following items from the intial screen of the IDS/PDS. ‘+ When using the IDS (laptop PC) 4. Select the “Toolbox’ tab. 2. Select *Selt Test" 8, Select "Modules 4, Select "TCM", ‘* When using the PDS (Pocket PC) 1. Select "Module Tests” 2. Select "TCM". 3. Select "Self Test” 4. Verity the DTC according to the directions on the esnoneer screen. © If any DTCs are displayed, perform troubleshooting according to the corresponding DTC inspection. 5, After completion of repairs, clear all DTCs storod in the TCM. (See 05-02-4 AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE ( [5R55S}.) 05-02-3 ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC [5R55S] AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE [5R55S] Caution * After repairing a malfunction, perform this procedure to verify that the malfunction has been corrected. * When this procedure is carried out, be sure to drive the vehicle at lawful speed and pay attention to other vehicles. 4. Connect the IDS/PDS to the DLC-2. 2. After the vehicle is identified, select the following items from the initial screen of the IDS/PDS. + When using the IDS (laptop PC) 1. Select the "Toolbox" tab. 2. Select *SeifTest’. 3, Select “Modules”. 4. Select “TCM, * When using the PDS (Pocket PC) 1. Select "Module Tests". 2. Select “TCM”. 8, Select “SeifTest’. . Verity the DTC according to the directions on the IDS/PDS screen. . Press the clear button on the DTC screen to clear the DTC. . Verity that no DTCs are displayed. Verify that the ATF level is normal. Turn the O/D OFF switch on (O/D OFF indicator illuminates) and gradually accelerate vehicle speed to 64 km/ h (40 mph). © Verify that the transmission shifts to 4GR, and maintain the vehicle speed and acceleration pedal opening angle for 15 s or more. 8. Turn the O/D OFF switch off (O/D OFF indicator turns off) and accelerate the vehicle speed to 80 km/h {50 mph}. * Verify that the transmission shifts to 5GR, and maintain the vehicle speed and acceleration pedal opening angle for 15s or more. 9. Decelerate using light brake pedal force (Brake light illuminates). Maintain this condition for 5 8 or more. 40. Stop the vehicle for approx. 20 s. 11. Repeat Steps 7—10 five times. 12. Gradually slow down and stop the vehicle. 18. Make sure that the repaired DTC does not recur.
