Project Scope Statement

Project: Developing Drones For Wilmont's Pharmacy

Revision No.: 1

Revision Date:
2nd Nov 2020

Purpose: The purpose of the project is to provide the drone technologyas well as
the drone piloting anddelivery systems to the Wilmont's Pharmacy and to
customize it's system and business process to meet their requirements.
Project Goals: The goal of the project is to create, design and modify the drones
for the pharmacy company which aims in delivering prescriptions using flying
drones. The project begins next January 5 and the irst customer delivery should
take place no later than November 30 to avoid harsh condition in San Francisco.
The project expenditures has been limited to a maximum of $1,750,000 by
Wilmont,s for this prototype and will be implemented first in only 4 stores. The
cost of overall project should be finalised by the Budget and Resource
Management Team and will be approved by the Wilmont's Team.
The prototype desin must be submitted to the Wilmont's team to verify and
approved it to be engineered by the engineering and control management team
of the Drontech firmware. It should be made of light composite materials to
reduce weight and increase maneuverability.
Control & Management Team should be responsible for monitoring all the
sensors, flight controllers, obstacle detection and collision avoidance technology.
Control team members should check the seamless live feed functioning over its
network and camera peformance.
Information and technology heads should be responsible for handling all types of
services related to their mobile app as well as customer feedback. The team issues
security, integrity, reliability interfaces between the systems of two organisation.
Approval points are needed through the project sequence. Risks, testing, quality
control and provision issues should be develop. User training and other
preparations should be required for the implementation and will be asssisted by
the Wilmont's change management team.
Project Scope Description: The Drone developement project should include the
following scope elements:
Drone : The Drone should be developed and modified in accordance with the
standards set by the pharmacy company. The drone itself include:
· Be capable of transporting deliverables of maximum 4-5 pounds and
prescriptions for a duration of 4 hours or more at an average speed.
· Reach greater speed for short durations.
· Be powered by an electric motor of limited size to meet the desired
requirements when loaded.
· Incorporate sufficient battery storage during any emergencies.

· Standard wing size to reach certain height.

· Having mechanism on the app to monitor battery remaining, wing speed,

altitude meausre and live feed.
· Light weight materials should be used for developing drone's body like
carbon-fibre, thermoplastics, aluminium or composite materials.
Administration : Teams are responsible for all the administration of the projects.
They shall developed diffferent plans, schedules, budgets and design and submit
these to the Wilmont's team for the approval prior to the start of the project. The
budget and management team shall keep accurate records of spends on all the
expenditures. All purchases shall be in the name of DronTech firmware and follow
firm rules on purchasing.
At the conclusion of the project, the team shall provide a full accounting of the
actual expenditures for the Project including evidence that all obligations have
been fulfilled.
Design : The Design Team shall prepare a design that fully meets the standard set
by the pharmacy company for their prescription deliveries. The design should be
optimize to reduce cost and increase efficiency.
The team shall preparre all the drawing designs and descriptions and submit
them to the Wilmont's team for their review and approval. The prototype should
be painted in company colors to represent their commerce.
It should be made of light composite materials to reduce weight and increase
maneuverability. Wilmont want to adapt a temperature‐controlled product
bagging system along with a bubble‐type cushioning system for the customer
delivery packaging in order to ensure that certain temperature‐sensitive or
breakable items are not affected by the delivery process.

Procurement : The team shall prepare all specifications required to purchase the
material required for the drones provide a listing of all quantities to be purchased.
The team shall prepare a detailed cost estimate for the project including design,
material, construction, testing, transportation, and repair. They shall also include
the cost of administration and fund raising in their estimate.
Any purchases or contracts shall be placed in the name of the DronTech firmware.
All purchase orders and contracts shall be fully closed out and a letter
acknowledging all bills have been settled obtained for each transaction.
The procurement team shall assist the design team in preparing their estimate of
the project costs by obtaining estimates from previous leverages.
Construction : The team shall fully construct the electric Drone in accordance with
the plans and specifications set out by the design team and approved by the
Pharmacy company. Light weight components shall use by the team. Prototype
shall be painted in Company's color. The structural and electrical integrity of the
prototype shall be tested during the construction and all components shall meet
the appropriate standards.
Testing : – Each component and sensors shall be tested for proper operation prior
to installation and defective parts shall be returned to the supplier and replaced.
The structural integrity and the electrical integrity shall be tested as each system is
completed.
The completed prototype shall undergo a minimum 4 hour test to confirm that it
can meet the minimum standards. The results of the tests shall be evaluated to
determine if the Prototype operation might be further optimized by making
simple adjustments. Further tests will be conducted to confirm the improvements.
Transportation : The team is responsible to transporting the completed prtotypes
to the pharmacy in a van. And, returning it to the point of origin. The team is
responsible for food and lodging during the time the team is on their journey. The
Pharmacy site is 78 miles for DronTech Office.
IT Role : The IT team shall modify Wilmont's Pharmacy App in accordance with
this project. The Application shall be customized to provide easy in handling amd
monitoring this drone technology. They should Team Up with the Pharmacy's IT
team to work on it to provide assistance.
Information and technology heads should be responsible for handling all types of
services related to their mobile app as well as customer feedback. The team issues
security, integrity, reliability interfaces between the systems of two organisation.
Interface allows Wilmont’s enhanced online order entry process that will allow
customers in the San Francisco area to register their willingness to have a drone
deliver their orders by means of online entry or smartphone entry. There will be
significant restrictions on the approval of customers for this service, so there will
need to be a segment of the process to allow Wilmont’s management to approve
the customer, send a confirmation to the customer, etc.
The team interface their systems to Wilmont’s so that customers are not going
directly to DroneTech’s normal customer websites or mobile applications.
Interface communications about deliveries for Wilmont’s customers electronically
through email, online, and through mobile alerts as the customer requests.
User Training : The Control and Handling Team shall work on user training and
other preparations required for the system implementations. Assistance will be
provied by the Wilmont's Change Management Team.
