Application for the Business School Dean’s International Excellence

Scholarship 2017 - 2018


Closing Date: 30 April 2017 (midnight UK time)

One full-fee Scholarship is available for particularly deserving International applicants for 2017-2018.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA – Please read this information carefully, as your application form will be
automatically rejected if you do not meet ALL of the eligibility criteria listed below:

 Applicants must have an offer, conditional or unconditional, for 2017/18 and be in receipt of a University
Student ID Number1 to be eligible for this Scholarship. Applications without an offer of study will be
rejected.
 To be considered for these scholarships applicants will need to demonstrate the following attributes:
o Applicants should demonstrate a track record of excellent academic performance, as evidence in your
grades achieved to date.
o Applicants should demonstrate evidence of professional and personal skills evidenced through work
experience and extra-curricular activities.
o Explain how the opportunity to study at Leeds University Business School will help you achieve your
academic, personal and professional development goals
 Applicants whose first language is not English must meet the University’s English Language requirements 2.

REGULATIONS
These include the following:
 The awards are available to suitably qualified applicants wishing to undertake full-time Masters study at
Leeds University Business School.
 Awards must be taken up in September 2017; they cannot be deferred to a later entry date.
 The awards are non-transferable to other Masters courses at Leeds University Business School or other
Masters courses at the University of Leeds.
 Applicants are only entitled to be in receipt of one scholarship awarded by the University of Leeds or Leeds
University Business School. With the exception of the University of Leeds Alumni Bursary and Scholarship.

METHOD OF APPLICATION
 Applicants must complete all sections of the application form.
 You can attach additional documents you consider would strengthen your application e.g. references, CV.
 When required to do so you must attach supporting evidence e.g. academic transcripts.
 The completed form should be returned to the Postgraduate Admissions Office, Leeds University Business
School by no later than midnight UK time on 30 April 2017 by email to: pgscholarshipslubs@leeds.ac.uk

APPLICATION PROCEDURE AND RESULT


 Applicants will receive an automated email confirming receipt of the application.

Your University Student ID number will be generated from the applicant portal once an official offer of study has been
made.

Your score must be no more than two years old by your official start date at the University of Leeds

 Applications are logged by the Postgraduate Admissions Office and are assessed by The Faculty Director
of Admissions for consideration.
 Successful applicants can expect to be notified of the outcome of their application within four weeks of the
deadline.
 Successful applicants must accept their scholarship within two weeks of receiving the scholarship offer. If
you do not accept an offer within two weeks, you will forfeit the scholarship and it will be re-offered to the
next eligible applicant.
