Bhagavan Sri Krishna is continuing the topic of ¶k ^mdZm& Like the
previous verse, this verse is also the instruction given by Brahmaji, Prajapati, the
Creator.
Brahmaji, having created the beings along with ¶k, said that, “May you prosper
and nourish your lives through this ¶k”.
Through this proper lifestyle of ¶k, your lives will prosper and this lifestyle has
the capacity to bestow, whatever you ask for.
If you abide by the rules and regulations and live a life in keeping with Y‘©,
you will get everything that is necessary for life.
Bhagavan is elaborating the same idea, in this verse too. Brahmaji the Creator
says,
AZoZ XodmZ² ^md¶V& - Through this ¶k, this lifestyle, worship the
Devas. The word Devas may refer to celestial beings like BÝÐ, déU and others.
Or, the word Deva may be taken as the various forces present in nature - Sun, Moon,
Stars, Rain, Thunder, Lightning etc., All these natural forces are considered as God in
our tradition. God alone is the supreme principle behind all these natural forces.
The forces that govern the universe and nature are worshipped as intelligent
beings namely BÝÐ, A{¾, déU, dm¶w etc.. This is our lÕm& We have
deep faith, trust in this.
AZoZ XodmZ² ^md¶V& - “Through ¶k, through the attitude of
worship, through taking up your social responsibility may you invoke the Devas, may
you respect them, may you respect Nature, may you preserve and protect Nature” is the
implied meaning of this statement.
Nowadays, people talk about ecology and preserving the environment. But, this
idea is there in the scriptures from time immemorial.
Because, if we go against nature, we have to face the consequences - instead of
giving joy, nature will start giving sorrow. We see this in our day-to-day experience.
Even scientifically, they say that through industries and man’s haunting for sense
pleasures, we are doing so much of harm to nature. Everyone has started accepting
this.
Vedas proclaim that, God alone is present in the form of Nature and we have to
respect Nature. It says that Nature is an intelligent principle. Some people think that,
Nature is inert. It is not so.
Our scriptures say that there is an innate consciousness in everything that is
there is nature.
So, we have to respect and worship Nature, which is synonymous with
worshipping the Devas.
Vo Xodm: d: ^md¶ÝVw&
May that Devas bless you. May they protect you by giving rains at proper times.
Nature will reciprocate in innumerable ways to take care of you is the idea conveyed
here.
nañna§ ^md¶ÝV: - May you both help each other mutually. You worship
the Devas and the Devas will take care of you.
lo¶: na‘dmñ¶W - May you gain greater peace of mind and a sorrow free
life.
Thus, may you live your life, as prescribed by the Vedas. “May you follow the
lifestyle of Yajna. May you share whatever you have with everyone. May you have a
reverential attitude towards Devas and thus Nature. May Devas bless you in return. May
all of you gain peace of mind and happiness” is the essence of this verse.
May this CnXoe of JrVmMm¶© ever be present in our minds and guide
us.
