1 Introduction
In correspondence with network software upgrade to R13A for all MSS and GSS node in
Indonesia Telkomosel , the new hardware of IPTB (Integrated Protocol Tracer Board) is
introduced. To insure its function before implemented to live node, this board is first
installed and tested in customer test bed. After this test, all MSS nodes after upgrading to
R13A will have this board installed to replace the wireshark server if any.

This document mainly summarized the hardware layout, hardware installation; related IS
configuration and problem solved during the test.

2 Hardware Layout
The BC node (MSTBE3) in test bed is based on MSC BC2.0 hardware. Therefore our
IPTB was shipped from warehouse with 2 TSR 491 604 cables. For those having BC 2.1
hardware TSR 491 602 cables will come along with the board. Normally, this board will be
inserted to slot 16 in SPX2 subrack, as below.

3 IPTB Design
The IPTB has interfaces towards the O&M network, with connection to IS via ISL or SCXB.
Therefore corresponding internal and external IP addresses should be configured for IPTB.

3.1 IPTB towards IS

To establish communication between IPTB and IS 2 internal subnets were reserved for this
purpose with designation INT-TRACE1 (VLAN id 3046) and INT-TRACE2 (VLAN id 3047).
These 2 VLANs should always the same since it’s only for internal use, below IP
assignment is standard reference to IPT User Guide (1/1553-AZD10120/1 Uen C)
Appendix B.

3.2 IPTB towards SE

In order to have remote control from OSS, this external interface is established towards SE
router. A Control Workstation is connected through the front port using the CLI over SSH,
or the GUI over HTTP or HTTPS.

4 IPTB Installation
For the newly installed IPTB board one should follow the initial installation procedure
described in reference Integrated Protocol Tracer, User Guide 1/1553-AZD 101 20/1
(REV.G). Attached the OPI and log file.

5 SW update to IPTB
The new board we had comes with CXC1372084_1_R1A10 pre-installed. To date, IPT
software IPT1.0 CP1 is released as EP-A07 package. (T-011105) After update the SW, IS
configuration on VLAN 3046 & VLAN 3047still needs to be done manually. Attached the
user guide for IPT and log file.

6 Highlight Issues
1] at first installation, the SYNC LED kept red, this was solved by performing boardreset
twice which totally took 1 hour.

2] problem with add into hardware table:

To solve this, one should have SW package available in APG

3] one additional should paid attention is if the connection between IPTB and IS is not well
