General notes 1.

The machine described in the present manual is an automatic low-level depalletising system for
glass bottles.

I.I GENERAL NOTES

The automatic depalletiser mod. UNI 700 has been designed for glass bottle depalletising ensuring the
best results provided that all the operating and maintenance instructions as well as the advice given in this
manual are respected.
To get the best results UNI.MAC. S.r.l. adivse to carry out regular cleaning and maintenance operations to
keep the system in the best conditions.
The instruction of the personnel in charge of the system is of the utmost importance concerning its use,
maintenance, respect of the operation procedures and of all the safety rules mentioned in this manual.

I.II HOW TO USE THIS MANUAL

This manual has been organized to help the user find the required information for use and maintenance
simply and rapidly.
The user must read the manual completely, carefully and make sure that all the information contained is
perfectly clear.

The manual is also to be used as reference documentation and be read whenever it is necessary to carry
out an operation or procedure.
For this reason it should be always available to the personnel who is appointed to maintenance and to the
operators, so that it can be read at any time.

It is easy to use this manual thanks to the general table of contents which allows to find the subject of
interest immediately and to the table of contents repeated at the beginning of each chapter.
The title of the chapters is repeated at the top of each page to ease the reader's research.

Safety symbols have been put beside some paragraphs to stress their importance and help the reader find
them. Please read the relevant notes with care.

1.1 COMMISSIONING, GUARANTEE AND RESPONSIBILITY

- Commissioning

The machine is sent to the customer ready for installation after succeeding in all the tests envisaged by the
manufacturer according to the laws in force.

- Guarantee

For the whole period of the guarantee the manufacturer undertakes to remove the defect, if any, provided
that the machine has been properly used according to the prescriptions of the use and maintenance
manual.

The guarantee becomes void if parts are replaced with other non complying with UNI.MAC. S.r.l. specifications
(for commercial components) or not supplied by UNI.MAC. S.r.l. (if designed) and if the machine is not
properly used.

The materials and the parts normally subject to wear like gaskets, seals, belts etc. and the parts whose
average life cannot be determined in advance like lamps, fuses and so on are not subject to guarantee.

- Responsibility

UNI.MAC. S.r.l. is not responsible for operation anomalies or generic troubles caused by a not authorized use
of the machine or by interventions and/or modifications carried out by external personnel not authorized by
UNI.MAC. S.r.l.

1.4 VOCABULARY USED

SELF-BRAKING:
Motor provided with electromechanical brake used to keep the position if tension is not present.

PAD: Cardboard sheet placed between the pallet layers

CHAIN GUIDE: Chain-sliding hollow

INTERLAYER PAD: see pad

DEPALLETISER:
Automatic machine for pallet depalletising.

PLC: Computer controlling the machine operation.

POLYZENE: (registered mark) Plastic material in high-density polyethylene.

ROLLER TRACK:
Part of the machine consisting of parallel motorised or idle rollers for pack transfer.

LAYER: Quantity of products aligned and squared according to predetermined patterns.

CONVEYOR: General term used for chain conveyors or roller tracks.
