SWOT ANALYSIS
I currently works as an electronics teacher at Don Bosco Technical Institute of Makati
(DBTI-Makati), a nurturing, responsive, research-oriented, and innovative Salesian school for
the young. The information to be given will be presented in a SWOT analysis format that will
focus on the school facilities for Electronics and Electrical System Design Technology (EESDT)
area. The EESDT area offers two (2) specializations; Electrical System Design Technology and
Electronics Design Technology.
Strengths
1. Shop room
Each specialization has a dedicated shop room. Each shop room has a computer
desktop, camera, microphone, and LCD projector intended for presentations and
demonstrations.
2. Tools, materials, and equipment
All of the tools, materials, and equipment needed in learning electronics and electrical
subjects are available in the shop rooms. It can accommodate forty five (45) students.
Also, the tools, materials, and equipment are properly taken care of a shop assistant.

3. Training modules
For better teaching and learning process, the school provides training module that will
let students to perform experiments.
Weakness
1. Space
In teaching electrical installation, having a wider space for board activities is a must.
As of now, we cannot give an individual board activity simultaneously to 45 students
because of limited space.
2. Outdated computer desktops
In teaching robotics, having an updated computer desktop is a must especially in
uploading Arduino programs. As of now, the computer desktops intended for robotics
are limited and has a Windows XP for its operating system.
Opportunities

1. Expanding the training modules/kits for Robotics

The school plans to avail Abilix kits to hone the critical thinking skills of the students,
and it can give students the opportunity to explore Robotics. Also, availing the kits will
give an opportunity to the school to participate in Abilix competitions.

2. Mechatronics
The school plans to include mechatronics in the Electronics Design Technology
curriculum. Therefore, the school will avail a training module intended for
mechatronics.
Threat
In my opinion, the biggest threat now is the new normal of education. New normal
education limits the technical teachers to only give video tutorials to hone students’
technical skills. Good equipment or training modules has no use if the students cannot
explore it by himself.
