STORY TELLING

Based on wikipedia, story telling is the social and cultural activity of sharing stories,
often with improvisation, theatrics, or embellishment. Stories or narratives have been shared
in every culture as a means of entertainment, education and moral values.
Talking about story telling is so interesting. It becomes one of my favorite activities in
learning english. It improves my speaking skill much. In my opinion, being a story teller must
be very powerful. By telling a story, I can entertain people, make them laugh and also cry at
the same time. I can also deliver morals and cultures. It makes me feel proud of a lot.
Story telling used to tell folklore, legend, fable and many other bedtime stories. But
nowadays story telling also tells about ancestors. It will teach people about where they come
from and the social habits which happened at past.
Story telling is more than just reading and performing the story aloud. To be a good
story teller, I must move my arms, legs, hands and face. Sometimes I have to use different
tones of voice to express the character feeling. It will make the story feel real and audiences
will be entertained much. At last, don’t forget to deliver the moral value as it is the main
thing in story telling. If I am able to deliver it well, I suppose I am success.
