Senior Specialist Power Systems Engineer

Our client is a global leader in offshore wind development, and they have an extensive portfolio of offshore
wind farms, boasting ownership for some of the largest in the world. An exciting opportunity has opened
for a highly skilled Senior Specialist Power Systems Engineer to join them on a full-time, permanent basis in
Denmark.

The successful candidate will have in-depth, technical capabilities but will also be personable and an
excellent stakeholder manager, who can confidently build rapport at all levels of business. The key aim of
this role is to hold full responsibility for electrical system design, as well as studies and securing grid
connection for their offshore wind farms. This includes (but is not limited to); grid connection agreements,
ION/FON, cable layout, conceptual design reports, WTG grid code compliance, as well as the preparation
and submission of necessary data/compliance documentation for TSOs/DNO/OFTO etc.

Key Responsibilities:
 Provision of overall electrical system design.
 Modelling and simulation studies.
 Provide necessary information for compliance test and ensure feed- back from test and
commissioning into system design.
 Prepare and submit necessary data and compliance documentation required by the TSO/DNO,
OFTO and others.
 Keep track of risks and problems and communicate with internal and external stakeholder
 Ensure that the project is on time on quality and within scope and budget.
 Manage regular follow-up meetings and communication with TSO, Prepare contract documents
and QA related to grid compliance requirements e.g. in WTG tender and PL etc.
 Comply with the company’s guidelines and current standards, i.e. ISO9001 requirements (as well as
local requirements).
 Ensure that the best technical practices are implemented.
 Ensure hand-over of agreed documentation to O&M and OFTO.
 Comply with and enforce the Company HSE requirements.
 Agree scope of works for the overall electrical system design and compliance.
 Ensure technical/economical optimisation of electrical system and array and that all relevant
studies are carried out.
 Prepare inputs to business case for various designs and connection options.
 Prepare electrical system design reports and verification of grid code compliance.
 Management of external suppliers (external analyses).
 Prepare QA plan, ensure that persons/external parties are appointed.
 Prepare and review technical documents.
 Continuously report progress, variations and challenges to the electrical project manager and
provide input to various reports
 Manage grid connection application process together with commercial responsible and project
management to ensure Grid Code Compliance.

Key Competencies/Experience Required:


 MSc Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
 Project Management/Leadership experience
 Minimum 5 years’ work experience with electrical wind farm design and/or power system analysis.
 Hold experience with electrical system design and analysis using simulation tools like PowerFactory
and PSS/E
 You have excellent communication skills enabling you to convey complex issues in a simple yet
precise manner and are both personable as well as analytical with strong negotiation skills.
 Previous TSO/Stakeholder experience
