Installing and Configuring Computer Systems

OPERATIONAL PROCEDURE

Location Practical Work Area/Computer Laboratory Room
Operational Procedure:

1. Inspect the set-up of the computer. Be sure that the area is dry and
no spilt liquid nearby.
2. Check the stability of the computer and keyboard.
3. Check the power cords and cables. Check connections.
4. Wipe dust and remove unnecessary objects that will obstruct the
use of the computer.
5. Turn on AVR/UPS and then turn on the computer.
6. Use the computer properly. Avoid downloading from
unrecognized/unsafe sites.
7. Before using external hard drives and flash drives, scan and clean
the computer. After using, be sure to close the document/program
and eject the drives.
8. Properly shutdown the computer when not in use.
9. Turn off the AVR/UPS after shutting down the computer,
10. Return the mouse and keyboard to their proper placement after
use.
11. To protect the desktop computer, cover it (if available).
