In this time of pandemic, it is safer to have the transaction online, it is more convenient for the consumers
to have an immediate response to their demands and inquiries on all platforms.

Smart Grid System

Smart Grid is an Electrical grid with Automation, Communication, and IT systems that can monitor power
flows from points of generation to points of consumption and control the power flow or curtail the load to match
generation in real time or near real time. In short, this system will make it easier for Meralco to monitor its
network efficiently, to prevent the miscalculation or overestimation on the bill.

Longer Installment Payment and Promissory

During this pandemic, a lot of worker lost their jobs, thus losing their source of income. By giving them
longer time to pay for their bills, this would ease the mind of the consumers.

Monitoring the Bills and Electric Meter

For us to prevent overestimation of the bill, we should take it to ourselves to at least learn how to read a
meter. I think that if the consumers know how to read the meter, we could monitor the actual amount of
consumption that we are supposed to pay.

Updating the ECQ Bills on Actual Consumption

Meralco should also take action to update all the bills that are erroneously stated to its actual
consumption. Because of the pandemic Meralco did not sent their utilities to do the actual reading, thus the
estimation of the consumption, but they gradually deploying their meter readers since early April, so we should
expect to have an updated of the actual bill.
