Exercise 1
• Give each student a worksheet. Ask them to label the
different places in the school using the words in the box.
They can work on this individually or in pairs.

talking about their school.

• Students complete the sentences individually. They then

check their answers in pairs.

• Check answers with the whole class.

Introduction
Language
Grammar:  be, have got
Vocabulary:  Ordinal numbers, months, countries and
nationalities
Objective:  To practise questions, ordinals, months,
countries and nationalities
Preparation:  Make one copy of the worksheet for each
pair of students. Cut in half.

• Divide the class into pairs and label them Student A and
Student B. Give each student one half of the worksheet.

• Tell students that they have two fact files containing

information and two fact files which are empty. Explain that
they are going to ask and answer questions to complete the
empty ones. Tell them not to look at each other’s fact files.

• With a weaker group, you could elicit and write all the
questions on the board before they start, e.g. What’s the boy’s /
girl’s name? What’s his / her nationality? Where’s he / she from?
When’s his / her birthday? Has she / he got any brothers and
sisters? Has she / he got any pets?

• When students have finished, ask them to compare fact files

to see if their answers are correct.
EXTRA IDEA   Ask students to create a similar fact file about a
friend, family member or famous person. They then ask and
answer the same questions with a partner.
