Unit Plan

1- Introduction setting the purpose of the project

2- Title of the unit, grade level, number of sessions

3- A page on the subject of the unit: Nature of the concept, place in curriculum, role
for subsequent concepts and skills, historical background, value in daily / career
life, etc.
Check the available resources, think about the possible obstacles or difficulties for
students and about ways to address them, look for ways to motivate students and
raise their curiosity, suitable methods for shifting the focus from teaching to
learning (student-centered approaches).

4- Prerequisite skills and concepts

5- General Objectives of the unit

5- List of sub-topics, types of concepts and skills to be developed through the unit

6- Distribution of topics / objectives over the sessions (progression table / scope and
sequence)

7- Individual lesson plans, including regular components:


Building on previous homework
Specific objectives
Procedures and activities
Materials and worksheets
Evaluation
Assignments for next session

8- Preview time for formative assessments (short quizzes / student presentations /


student activities) and develop them in the corresponding lesson plans

9- Summative assessment for the unit.
