The “Banga” represents the product and craft that Bulua is known for, which is “Pottery”.
It is consider as economic and cultural.

It is economic because we realize that distinct benefits from the activities of local small
businesses. Small businesses, in turn, can realize competitive advantages by
employing a local focus in their service and marketing activities. Major benefits of
business in the local economy include a boost in employment and discretionary income
in the community, tax income increases for local governments and a loyal customer
base for businesses.

Pottery is often portrayed as being a landmark in the evolution of humanity. Pottery can
be used to determine a person's social ranking, gender, or even possibly their
relationship to others in the group. People living in Barangay Bulua has successfully
sustained their cultural legacy by handing down the art of pottery making in their area.

Bulua’s famous landmark intersection where the giant clay jar or “banga” is located is
currently undergoing a facelift. Built during the Marcos era, the “banga” symbolizes the
pottery works Barangay Bulua in Cagayan de Oro City is known for.
