Background Information for Learners

Recycling is the process of collecting and processing materials that would otherwise
be thrown away as trash and turning them into new products. Recycling can benefit your
community and the environment. The benefits of recycling are to reduce the amount of waste
sent to landfills and incinerators, conserves natural resources such as timber, water and
minerals, increases economic security by tapping a domestic source of materials, prevents
pollution by reducing the need to collect new raw materials, saves energy, and helps create
jobs to locals and also a form of learning in schools if utilized and put creativity in it.

Wrap Gift Items
Background information for Learners
Gift wrapping is the act of enclosing a gift in some sort of material. Wrapping paper is
a kind of paper designed for gift wrapping. An alternative to gift wrapping is using a
gift box or bag. A wrapped or boxed gift may be held closed with ribbon and topped with a
decorative bow (an ornamental knot made of ribbon). Gift wrapping came to exist to build up
the anticipation of opening the gift. The art of wrapping the perfect gift requires certain
materials and instruments like gift wrap paper, tissue paper, gift bags, twine or ribbon and gift
card that will complete the gift you are giving. The decoration is just as important as the gift
itself.
