a new product and give it a name; then, prepare to record a video.

5. Decide if these rules characterise the formal or informal letter. Match them
to the examples in exercise 3.
1. Use full verb forms. – Formal, Please accepts my apologies.
2. Use contractions. – Formal, I haven’t got any time.
3. You can leave out an obvious subject and auxiliary verb. – Informal, Can
you come tomorrow?
4. Don’t use abbreviations like ASAP or P.S. – Informal, Can you give me
the information ASAP?
5. Use indirect questions. – Formal, Would you mind sending it again?
6. Use phrasal verbs and idioms. – Informal, What have you been up to?
7. Don’t use exclamation marks. – Informal, See you soon!
8. Use ‘have got”. – Formal, I haven’t got any time.
