About the Event

Earth as a whole, faces many environmental problems. While environment managers/

specialists are working for environment protection but there is a strong demand that every
one of us should get out into the environment and make a significant contribution towards
environment protection. The Competition “Explore and Protect Environment” will be
held at FET, MRIIRS on 16 th April, 2019. The aim of event is twofold, first to promote
environmental protection awareness amongst students and second to evaluate their field
work.
Department of Chemistry gives emphasis to teach and train students broadly in assessment
of the environmental implications of technological advancements and the possible solutions
to various potential hazards. First Year B. Tech students have successfully completed the
field work as a part of EVS curriculum as prescribed by UGC. They have visited to different
sites/industries to identify the environment related issues in real scenarios.
In science & technology, innovations are ongoing process. It is necessary for us to embark
on some science projects or posters which have relevance to noise pollution, an affecting
factor to the environment. Sound plays a key role in the ecosystem. The noise pollution is
any sound that is disturbing or unwanted. As noise pollution from human beings in the form
of motor vehicle and airplane traffic among other causes increases, wildlife is forced to
adapt in ways that are not sustainable. In human terms this usually includes sounds that
disrupt sleep or conversation or otherwise erode a person's quality of life. The same holds
true for wildlife, only with far more dire consequences. With this background, the
Department of Physics, motivate our young budding engineers and researchers to think
about degree of noise pollution towards exploration and protection of environment. The
students are always motivated to put their best efforts to prepare and submit a report on
different environmental action projects and environmental issues displaying posters.
Students will present their field work observations, analysis of environmental processes and
sustainability issues. The work will be judged on the basis of presentation, explanatory skills
and understanding of the fundamental basics. There will be prizes for best performers.

Topics for Field work:

Visit to a local area to document environmental assets river/ Forest/grassland/hill/mountain
