Write an experience

Write an experience about a time you visited a friend or family member at their workplace.

My uncle works as a lecturer at a private university in Jakarta. One day, my school wants to have a campus
tour to Binus University where my uncle works.

When my friends and I arrived in front of the campus lobby, we were all amazed by the design of the
building. The building design is very modern and environmentally friendly. It can be seen from the environment
which is very clean and surrounded by beautiful plants. Then, we were invited to tour the campus with some very
friendly students.

The first place we visit is the classroom where students study. Then the second place is a very large and fully
equipped laboratory room. Some of the other facilities are a canteen, toilets, SAC (Student Advisory Center), and the
LSS (Lecturer and Service Center) Room. After the campus tour activities are over, we are left to rest. Then, I
accidentally met my uncle who was eating with some of his friends. We indirectly greeted each other and I was
introduced to his friend, the lecturer who worked there. At first, I thought all the lecturers were fierce, but it turned
out that my guess was wrong. The lecturers there are very friendly and kind. Then, my uncle asked me, am I
interested in registering here? Of course I spontaneously said yes and actually I am also interested in working here
someday.

It was a memorable experience and I enjoyed spending time there. And yes, although now I work as a
teacher in my hometown, my dream as a lecturer and work there has not been achieved. I hope that one day, I can
work there as a lecturer. But, of course I have to work hard from now on.
2. Write an opinion

Write an opinion based on the following prompt:

The building people work in is more important than the colleagues they work with. To what extent do you
agree or disagree?

Office buildings do make us interested and feel comfortable. However, I disagree that office buildings are
more important than colleagues we work with.

In my opinion, the design and structure of an office building only impresses us at first. Over time, we have
become accustomed to the appearance of the office building. The second is I believe that if we meet colleagues who
are kind, friendly, and make us comfortable, helpful, and supportive, it will make us more enjoy and make us a better
person.

On the other hand, if the working environment in the building is not welcoming and sufficiently supportive, it
is likely that people will not enjoy working there, no matter how nice and comfortable the building is. Because, I have
experienced events like this, what I feel is that I am lazy to work and tired of socializing with people around me. I also
looked for a way out by introspecting myself first and wondering, what is the cause of this problem? And then I tried
to socialize more with colleagues, and it worked.

To sum up, I believe colleagues are the most important because it is with them that we interact, not the
building. And we as partners must build each other up, not knock each other down.
