and attributed to Aldus Corporation founder
Paul Brainerd, who made a marketing
catch-phrase for the small size and
relatively cheap software product that time,
the Aldus PageMaker way back in 1985.

Graphic File Formats
These provide a method to organize
and standardize the handling and
storage of photographic, graphic and
other image data.
Resolution
It refers to the quality, sharpness
and clarity of an image.
Image sizes
The quality of the images is determined
by the number of pixels and depth of
color of each pixel.
Colors
We normally see an 8-bit pixel for color,
this type normally can store 256
colors. Whereas the 24-bit pixel can
store 16 million colors.
Image File Compression
The process of reducing the memory
storage of an image and algorithm to
decrease picture file size is known as
image compression.
Lossy Compression
just like for the movie, it only takes 30
frames per second to deceive the
human eye to see a moving picture,
the same is true for images.
Lossless Compression
This is the kind of compression wherein
the image quality is not diminished
even when you re-size an image.
