Dialogue
A: Well Adrian, I wish you a safe journey and a great time in Kenya.
B: Thank you, Liz. I’m going to miss you guys.
A: Thank heavens for social networking sites. We’ll be able to see all
the news.
B: I might not have access to the Internet every day.
A: That’s true, but I think your research and your life there will be great.
B: Absolutely; I’m quite excited. Thanks for everything – it’s time for
me to board.
∙ board – Get onto an airplane, ship, train or bus. We do not use this
for a car.
Discussion Questions
• Tell me about a time when you had to say goodbye.
• Do you use social networking sites? Which ones? Why or why
not?
• Tell me about a journey you have taken or would like to take.
I’m going to miss you guys - Everyone is expected to say this about
the co-workers he or she is leaving behind. It is probably true, but
Adrian is also excited about going to Kenya.
