Education is a fruitful process of learning.

Through it, we tend to widen our

perspective and see things in a clearer lens. We can unlock the curiosities of our minds
and be knowledgeable through the gift of education. Thus, it is a powerful tool that we
can use to defend ourselves against ignorance which no one can steal it from us. But
one cannot simply rely on his own understanding and delve into his own ignorance.
Therefore, we have educational institutions and educators that would help us rigorously
to become intellectuals equipped with necessary information.
Learning is a two way communication process between the student/learner and
the teacher. The student benefits from the teacher by learning the lessons while the
teacher/educator tries to see if the student gets something out from the lessons being
discussed. In Vygotsky’s theory is a social cultural theory that emphasizes how social
interaction guide cognitive development. For him, teacher served as a mediator who
trained encouraged students to formulate their own level of understanding. A child’s
interaction with an adult is essential to their cognitive development. In the classroom’s
set up, children are given with different activities. The implications are that they are not
only interacting with their teachers at the same time socializing with their classmates.
For Vygotsky, people learned new ways when they are interacting with each other. This
internalization occurred though social interaction and the development of thinking from
wider social group to the individual. With this interaction, students and teachers
reinforce their increase of knowledge. Dewey’s theory also shares similarities in their
ideas concerning the relationship of learning development, especially in the roles of
social environment and everyday activities. A person is slowly developing their selves
through relationships or experiences with others.
