10Drawings

10.1 General:
In this Chapter you find the following two Drawings
• Hardware Drawing
• Software Drawing
The Hardware Drawing describes all the relevant components and their connections.
The Software Drawings explains the functions of the software. Both documents are
absolutely necessary for maintenance and trouble shooting. How to read in the
drawings and how to interpret them is explained in the following description. The
drawings themselves are added as an appendix in this chapter.

10.1.1 Why You Should Read this Chapter

All the relevant components and their connections can be found in the Hardware
Drawing. This is absolutely necessary for maintenance and trouble shooting in the
plant. In this chapter you will learn how to read the drawings and how to interpret them.

10.2 How to read the Hardware Drawing

The hardware drawing may be divided into the following sections:

• Cover sheet sheet 001

• Sheet index sheet 002
• Symbol list sheet 005 / 006
• Block diagram sheet 010
• List of components sheet 060 ff
• Drawing sheet 100 ff
• List of terminals from sheet 900

Taking an example on the schematic, the location designation and references are
explained:

10.2.4 List of terminals
The list of terminals shows all connections to the excitation system. Beside the
terminals the list contains:
• the internal signal name and connection (page and co-ordinates)
• the external signal designation
• a signal description
• signal data

10.3 How to read the Software Drawing

For the detailed description of the software a software diagram is available. It shows
all relevant links between the different regulator functions. The regulator functions are
shown using function blocks, the so-called standard programs (SP). The following
figures show a view examples out of the software diagram. To explain details they are
marked with circles and numbers, which have the following meaning:

d This is parameter 15 of the function block with value of 50 represented in
internal data format.
e SP-44 represents Standard Program 44
Parameter for this function block are located in signal Group 19 .
f T20 describes the Task which run in 20 ms cycles.
g 11906 represents the Signal number of the output signal.
h 6908 represents the Signal number of the input signal.
i 11908 shows a signal number. The numbers in brackets are references to other
pages. This signal for example is also to be found on page 15.
