TZU CHI CEBU’S EDUCATION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

SY 2020 – 2021

GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS


Attendance:
● Attendance of Humanities Class by the Tzu Chi education assisted student is a strict requirement.
● Classes will be held once a month via zoom, on a Sunday at 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.
● Assignments will be posted via google classroom to augment our humanities class. Compliance of submitting
assignments on scheduled deadline will count as attendance.
● Individual punctuality and attendance play an important role in the Humanities Class.
● If, for compelling reasons, a scholar cannot attend join zoom meeting , he/she shall notify Tzu Chi Cebu Office on
or before Thursday of that particular week. An alternate class or activity may be scheduled to cover such
absence.
● Absences - Only one (1) absence per semester is allowed, but only if the student has valid reason
● Tardiness - Students have no reason to be late since our Humanities Class will be held on an “Online” Basis.
● Students who fail to attend the Humanities Class for no valid reason will automatically be brought up for
evaluation to consider his/her eligibility to continue in the Tzu Chi Education assistance Program.

Uniform:

Each Education Assisted Student of Tzu Chi should attend the humanities class or any Tzu Chi activity in proper
uniform as provided by Tzu Chi.

Tzu Chi Humanities Class

● During the humanities class, students are encouraged to maintain an environment that will promote effective
learning.
● Each student is asked to actively participate in the Humanities Class (e.g. sharing stories from Still Thoughts
reflections, etc.).

Academic Requirements

● Each scholar is required to submit a photocopy of his/her respective school’s report card after every
grading/examination period.
● Each student is encouraged to maintain at least an average grade of 85% in each school semester. There should
be no grade below 80% or its equivalent in any subject.
● Students whose grades fall below the maintaining average will be brought up for evaluation to consider his/her
eligibility to continue in the Tzu Chi Education Assistance Program.

Maintaining Good Moral Standing

● Founded by Master Cheng Yen in 1966. Tzu Chi Foundation has always been guided by the three principles of
Gratitude, Respect and Love to all beings.
● As Tzu Chi Education Assisted Students, you are all considered part of the Tzu Chi Family. As such, you should,
at all times, maintain yourselves as befitting to be called part of Tzu Chi, upholding the virtues of sincerity,
integrity, faith, and honesty.
