03. The Plan
04. Evaluation
OBJECTIVES
In response to the pandemic, the CDC desires the use of disposables for consumers, but
continual use may lead to pollution. In this project, we aim to:
To be able to influence
To be able to introduce To be able to reduce To be able to suggest
different companies of
eco-friendly, permanent litter that a replacement for consumer goods to use
utensils to the market; pollution; sacrificing our health; capture the attention of
and consumers.
THE INNOVATION
The usual plastic utensils contribute
to18 billion pounds of plastic
products that end up in the ocean.
As such numbers continue to rise,
we thought of innovating plastic
utensils into bioplastic ones.
Bioplastic products are made from cassavas, which is an abundant plant
found in the Philippines.
As these products are made out of natural ingredients, they can decay and
blend harmlessly with soil in a matter of weeks.
THE PLAN
THE PRODUCT
Disposable Utensils
ITS COMPONENTS
Polypropylene
Polystyrene
THE TEMPLATE
Polypropylene and polystyrene materials that normally constitutes plastic
disposable utensils are to be removed and exchange with cassava starch
and carrageenans.
THE PLAN
Alleviate many pollution problems and lessen the
existing plastic waste that disposable products
create.
Pave a way to an entirely new organic waste stream
whrein the separation of plastics and food leftovers
is no longer a problem and composting can be used
to recover nutrients.
Produce less greenhouse gas emissions.
