Product Overview
For the ZXSDR R8892E overview, see Figure 1-1.
1-1
Installation Scenarios
The ZXSDR R8892E can be installed on the wall or on a pole.
Note:
The IP65 protection rating ensures that the ZXSDR R8892E can adapt to severe weather
conditions.
l On the wall
It can be installed on the wall indoors or outdoors.
1-2
l On one pole
You can install one or twoZXSDR R8892E RRUs on one pole in expansible mode,
one or two ZXSDR R8892Es on one pole in non-expansible mode, or three ZXSDR
R8892Es on one pole on one side.
Description
The ZXSDR R8892E supports the LTE/GSM/UMTS formats.
The ZXSDR R8892E can be used in a single cell together with a baseband unit (ZXSDR
B8200). Three ZXSDR R8892E devices form a three-sector base station.
Note:
For related ZXSDR B8200 information, refer to the ZXSDR B8200 Indoor Baseband Pool
Hardware Description manual.
l High cabinet-top power, dynamic power sharing, and flexible configurations, improving
the network service quality
The ZXSDR R8892E provides a cabinet-top output power of 100 W. The cabinet-top
power can be allocated on the 1800 MHz and 2100 MHz bands in accordance with
the service busy-idle condition, network coverage requirement, and actual operator
policies.

2-2
Linux is the operating system on the hardware platform. The Board Support Package
(BSP) is a suite of software closely related to the boards. It is the support software that
enables the RealTime Operating System (RTOS) to run on the boards. The operation
support layer provides the following functions:
l Operation Support Subsystem (OSS): It is the support layer in the entire software
structure. It provides a hardware-independent platform for system software operation,
and provides some basic software functions, including scheduling, timer, memory
management, inter-module communication, sequence control, monitoring, alarm, and
log.
l Operating And Maintenance (OAM): It provides functions including configuration,
alarm, and performance measurement.
l Data Base Sub-system (DBS): It stores and manages system data.
l Barrier Sub-system (BRS): It implements system protocol stack processing.
l Barrier Access Control Sub-system (BRACS): It implements access control for the
carrier layer.
l System Control Sub-system (SCS): It controls the power supply and active/standby
switchover.

Note:
The NetNumen U31 system is a unified EMS of a ZTE mobile radio product. It
manages various connected radio NEs in a centralized manner, and provides
standard interfaces for the upper network management system. Multiple base
stations can be maintained through one EMS.
