Cute Charity Angels
Double knit wool, any colour for body/ flesh colour (or as close as) and choice of hair colour, also
some gold wool (or any type you wish for halo)
DMC embroidery thread split into 3 strands for eyes and oddments of pink or red for mouth
Needles: size 3.5mm knitting needles and 4mm crochet hook and wool needle for sewing
Cast on 12 sts
Knit 2 sts together till end 12sts cut a long thread and pull through
Fold body in half and sew together edges inside out, leaving a gap to turn it right side out.
Stuff as much or as little as you want till body is firm then take a large strand of flesh colour and
wrap round the neck and strangling the angel this makes the head nice and round and tied tightly at
back of neck, I tie where the edge is seamed and count that as the back
Arms make 2:
knit 2 together to end cut and thread through stitches and pull tight
turn inside out neatly sew up hand section, then I turn it right side out and stuff with tiny amount of
stuffing seam up on the outside, now when I position the arms and sew to the body I make sure the
seamed section is facing the body and sew the arms all the way around.
I use DMC embroider thread split to 3 strands I tie it to the back of the head and pull through to the
front and sew 2 little v shape, I personally don’t fuss making them perfect as each one adds
character, when the v’s are done pull through to back of head and tie off don’t worry this will be
covered by the hair. Mouth: take pink double knit tie to back of head and pull through to front
where you want to position mouth and just sew a small - and pull through to back tie off.
Hair:
Cut a piece of hard cardboard 15 cm to wrap hair around, wrap hair colour wool around 20 times,
take off the cardboard and lightly tie another piece of hair colour in the middle of the hank see
below pic:
Sew to top of head firmly, then pull loops aroun the neck and sew into position, don’t warry about it
being a little messy the wings will cover it
Wings:
In white cast on 34 ststs, now garter stitch and decrease 1 stich each end of every row till 4 remain
cast off and sew ¾ of the way up the back, just covering the neck hair
Have fun!
