What is poststructuralism and post-colonialism in international relations?

Firstly, poststructuralism serves a perspective that questions the

accepted "truth" in our world. It examines how the identified "beliefs' and
"facts" actually assert power and dominance to particular people in
international relations. This also doubts that universal law or truths can be
attained because a world of our interpretation does not exist.

Knowledge of different fields came from various professionals. These

professionals occupy a significant role in contemporary society. An example is
a politician who creates the state or business leaders' law, which can
manipulate and shape market direction. In modern times, they are the
"experts" in our society, giving them the credibility and authority to strengthen
viewpoints that serve their best interest in a broad audience.

This concept has a broad impact not only on its ability to determine
power relations that impose political events, but it can also create room for
alternative discourses to develop, changing circumstances. Most importantly,
this theory allows us to become aware and examine different norms.

Lastly, postcolonial researchers emphasize colonization's centrality in

socio-economics and political affairs, creating narratives and postcolonial
rationality and linking information and power.

Even though these findings have opened up new academic viewpoints in

several disciplines for a long time, much of International Relations has
remained exempt not just from them until currently, but also from the pointed
and relevant questions posed about how and why it was necessary for the
relevant areas of international history such as colonialism and the violent
interactions between the western countries and the rest of the globe are absent
from the past.

As a consequence of this marginalization, the contemporary Foreign

Affairs literature that integrates explicitly and builds on perspectives from
postcolonial theory is currently distinguished more by scope and diversity of
methodological and theoretical emphasis than by concrete debates and
conversations.
