Why?

Indeed public safety contributes to the overall success of an economy. In that, it plays a critical
role in supporting economic growth and vitality by reducing the cost of crime and disasters
and enhances the desirability of communities as places to live and locate businesses. Laws
applicable for conditions such as underage drinking, juvenile curfew laws, disorderly conduct,
disturbing and breach of the peace, and protection provided by emergency service
organizations for any disasters that may come has a direct impact on the levels of societal
trust and interaction which will eventually create a better and successful economy and
environment to live in.

2. What preparations should be done for any disasters?

Taking steps to prepare for a disaster can help get you back to normal faster. If you are
unprepared, the devastation and financial loss caused by natural disasters can be magnified.
The first thing to do is to be knowledgeable enough about disaster preparedness, plan ways,
and apply the disaster mitigation process which focuses more on reducing the impact of such
events when they do occur. Moreover, it all boils down to one’s preparedness when something
has occurred; an individual should always put in mind that when a disaster occurs he/ she
should always be attentive and listen to what the authority has to say, an individual should
also not panic because it will limit what you can do and this might also cause others to panic
as well which will eventually put you all closer to danger.

3. Have you experienced performing first aid? If yes, please share it, If not, what are your thoughts
about performing first aid.

No, I have not tried performing first aid in an actual scenario. In my idea, first aid is an
emergency care given immediately to an injured person. Its purpose is to minimize injury and
future disability. For me, the knowledge and understanding about first aid within different
emergency conditions are important and a great help since it allows someone to respond,
assess victims in an incident and handle them to reduce casualties. It also amazes me every
time I can see an individual performing it, since this immediate care applied especially in
serious cases are able to bring relief and most importantly save lives.
