Course Description:

Introduce the student to engineering projects and their stages. In addition to quantity estimating
for project phases and pricing. This is to achieve the estimated project cost. Furthermore, to
control, plan, and evaluate projects.

Learning Objectives:
The course will aim to
1. Prepare the student for the practical work in the field in terms of tendering.
2. Preparation bill of quantity.
3. Pricing of variety material in a project.
4. Estimating cost and time for a project.
5. Follow up the progress of an engineering project.
Learning Outcome:
At the end of this course the student will learn:

 1. The stages of a project preparation.
2. Contract terms.
3. Concept of technical specification.
4. Preparing tenders & bill of quantity for different projects.
5. Estimating quantities for different project tasks.
A - Knowledge Outcome:
Upon completion of this course the student will be able to

1- Recognize the various types of calculating the amounts of structure elements.

2- Define the basic elements of engineering projects.
3- Describe the method which is used to calculate any engineering element.
4. Give the final amount of any project then find the required cost to build any structure.

Teaching Methods:

Lectures, online lectures using google meet

Grading Methods:

Homework, Quizzes, reports, Mid-term Exam, and Final Exam.

B - Cognitive Skills:
After completion of the semester the student will be able to:
Find the amount (quantity) of each structure elements then give the cost of each item after that
find the final cost of each structure.

C - Interpersonal Skills and Responsibility:

After completion of the semester the student will be able to

1. Use the various methodologies for finding the quantity of each elements.
2- Show how to make bill of quantity (BOQ) for different types of projects.
