Reasons we suck at our degree

We all have some elder in the family who is this proud alumnus of some institute and got graduated
with 3.5 CGPA, had fun, went to trips, had his first job with pay PKR 4000 and is proud about it. They tell
us their fun stories, their free of tension lifestyle and boy when it comes to what they studied, they are
actually the Subject Matter Experts in what they graduated. Some of them never even knew what they
were doing but they did it right. You look at them and you wonder, why is that, you are not able to
pursue it properly. Why you are not able to get your CGPA more than 3 in short why are you sucking at
this? Relatable? I think I have some points that will help you solve this mystery.

Procrastination
The number one reason is procrastination aka “dheetai”. Seriously I don’t think that most of the people
are adopting this behavior due to some mental illness, I do accept that we are mentally upset at some
degree but mostly it’s just the “cool wannabe” behavior, that gets you promoted in memes. We really
need to allocate time like we did in our childhood for each and every task.

High af aims
We degrade low achievers, getting a simple job, or solving a simple problem like getting your assignment
done is not on our list. We are forgetting about the small steps, the instantaneous steps and when I say
instantaneous, I really mean like it like the definition of instantaneous changes that were taught us in
the physics. We are either this fake darbari who doesn’t care about life or we want to get martyred for
the protection of our borders. Take a chill pill, life is taking you exactly where you are supposed to be so,
complete your homework.

The teachers are not “Teachers” anymore

We always complain about teachers not being them soulful teachers, the ones like we had in college.
First of all, they are instructors people! it’s not the part of their job now to caress your butt and pamper
you. They are expecting you to be grown-ups now. I know it hurts, but that is how it is. Accept it.

The concept of “TC”

We have this false and such an unhealthy concept of TC. I will not go into literal meaning of the
abbreviation but in concept it means that if we want to get marks, we have to butter the teacher all the
time. You can respect him/her simply for being more qualified than you. Keep things simple.

Being THEETA is bad

First of all, the definition of theta that we have developed is pretty wrong. The one who completes
assignments before deadlines, rechecks them, gets them reviewed. The one who does not rely on mere
power point slides and studies from reference books is not a theta, he is a good human being. Be like
him, you will get grades, it feels good.
