Constructive learning : E-tivity Assignment-V

VALIDATING A DIRECTION ADOPTED IN A BASIC DESIGN STUDIO BASED ON THE PRINCIPLES
OF CONSTRUCTIVISM

Advantages of questionnaire

 The open ended questions such as ‘What is creativity?’ allows the participants to
express their thoughts. This gives the researcher a clear picture of how much the
participant has knowledge about the pertaining topic.
 The multiple choice question ‘perspective on framed tasks’ makes it easier to convert
the qualitative data to quantitative data. The researcher is expected to drive outcomes
within her pre defined choices. The same applies with the questionnaire addressed to
the teachers participating in the Faculty Development Programme.
 The open ended question ‘perspective on framed tasks’ gives the opportunity to the
respondents to express their thinking process. The researcher might get answers that
she has not thought about.

Disadvantages of questionnaire

 All participants are not capable of answering what is exactly in their minds in written
forms to open ended questions such as ‘What is creativity?’ and ‘How do you interpret
processes
 Different participants give different degrees of detail while answering open ended
questions. So it is difficult to compare.
 The questions like perspective on framed tasks may have more than one answer. So the
participants get confused. Since the questions are multiple choice, the respondents may
choose randomly for the sake of it.
