THE BOOK OF LEVITICUS

2020 SYLLABUS
Southwest School of Bible Studies

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Leviticus will be studied in context with an emphasis on God and His holiness.
Students will gain a grasp on this oft-neglected book and see how it ts into the
narrative of scripture. Every effort will be made to present the text in a rich,
helpful, and well-arranged way.

FINAL EXAM
The nal exam will be a comprehensive test of what we discuss in class.
Anything the teacher says in class is “fair game” for the test. Every effort will
have been made by the instructor to help you do well on it. In order to qualify for
the exam, all other work must be turned in on time. All work is due the week
before nals.

NOTES, SERMONS & TERM PAPER

- You may choose to have a physical folder or digital. Digital must have all work
in Google folder.
- Notes taken during class. If using Bible to take notes, you will not need to
scan/print these notes. Every Thursday at the end of class, you must show the
teacher your notes for the day.
- 2 Expository Sermons.
- 20 Page Rhetorical Paper - To be turned in for English Final.

READING & ANALYSIS

- Read Leviticus in 2 or less sittings by the end of the quarter.
- Read Leviticus chapters on schedule to be covered before class each
week and summarize the laws or people/events.

MEMORY WORK
Key verses to memorize will be encouraged throughout the quarter. Verses will be
verbalized to teacher. You will either pass or fail.

Your participation, your high interest level and your class desire to be a better
servant of God are musts (cf. 1Tim. 4:6-16). NO LAZINESS ALLOWED!
