PRACTICE 4. ANIMAL HISTOLOGY


INTRODUCTION
Histology is the part of Biology that studies tissues. In this practice you are
going to observe different animal tissues.
A tissue is a group of specialized cells that work together to perform a specific function.
The spaces between the cells in a tissue are filled with a liquid called intersticial fluid.
There are four basic types of tissue:
 Epithelial tissue
 Connective tissue
 Muscle tissue
 Nervous tissue
OBJETIVES.
- Identify different tissues and locate all their components.
- Make pictures of different tissues.
METHOD
1. Place a preparation on the stage and observe each different kind of cell with
different magnifications.

ACTIVIDADES.

1. Make a picture of your observations in the correct place. You only have to make the
picture of what you are watching at higher magnification.
